Apple will be releasing the new ipad tablet computing device next week and the skin companies are getting ready to roll. I have been looking around and I’m not even sure how the ipad skins will fit into the category groups on the skin websites. Apple ipads are not laptops, netbooks, phones, or mp3 players. I guess they might be categorized in the same group as eBook readers like the Kindle, Nook and Sony Reader. We’ll see soon enough. I can’t wait to try out the new ipad when it is released next week. I’m sure there will soon be tons of apps for the ipad just like for the iphone, so it will be a very interesting device to watch as it matures.

Where to Buy Skins, Stickers and Protective Films for the Apple ipad tablet computer

Here are the top sites I will be checking over the coming weeks to see what types of skins and protective films they have to offer for the Apple ipad.

I think the ipad will be a great device to put a skin on. The back of the ipad has beautiful smooth contours and a nice skin will look fantastic on there.

Protective Skins for ipads

The shape of the ipad will make the protective benefits of a skin significant, because without a skin, the back of the ipad will be easily marred and scratched. By applying a decorative and protective skin to your ipad, you will protect the plastic case and keep it beautiful, shiny and smooth. Of course, if you don’t get a skin for your ipad right away, you can add one later to cover up the scratches and scuffs on the back of your ipad.

Screen Protectors for ipads

ipads will need screen protectors to keep the screen from becoming scratched, pitted or dirty. ipad screen protectors will cover the entire face of the ipad and they will protect the screen from wear and tear as you run your fingers across the screen all day long. These protective films will be like cling film that you find on new electronic devices when you buy them. It’s just a thin clear layer of plastic to protect the screen . . . without damaging the ipad or leaving any nasty adhesive residue behind. A scratch-proof ipad defender!! I would start using the protective screen films right away (day one). You don’t want to damage your screen. Hopefully the ipad will last for quite a while and you don’t want to limit it’s useful life.

ipad Cases

I have seen several designs for ipad cases and I think these will be very popular. The ipad will fit into a normal laptop bag or a large purse, but with a device like the ipad you will surely want to have a case that’s specifically made for the ipad.

Stickers for the ipad?

I guess if you don’t want to go all out with an ipad skin, you can just apply some fun stickers . . . even bumper stickers. Why not? As long as you use the type of sticker that will peel off easily when you are done. You don’t want to leave a bunch of sticker residue or torn sticker behind, although you can usually clean that type of mess off with some effort.

Protecting Your Apple ipad

Well, I don’t think there’s much more you can do to protect your new ipad. Get a nice case, add a decorative skin to the back, and add protective film to the screen. Oh yeah, has some waterproof covers for ipads, so if you will be using your ipad outside or near water you might want to buy a few of those just in case. That should just about do it (other than the warranty). Of course you’ll need to back up your data too. The ipad seems like it might be more prone to damage than other devices. Maybe I think that because I can see people using their ipads in any and all environments. They will be so easy to carry around and stow that I think people might become a little careless with them.
